The League Management Company
has rescheduled the games involving three clubs in the Nigeria league.
The fixtures of Akwa United
versus Ikorodu United; Enyimba versus Shooting Stars and IfeanyiUbah against
Nasarawa United have been rescheduled
and will now hold on March 16.
The Chief Operating Officer of
LMC, Salihu Abubakar, explained that the fixtures were put on hold at the
instance of the clubs involved in continental competitions. Match Day 3
fixtures involving the three clubs will accordingly be played on March 23,
2016.
He said, “The clubs were already
not in the Match Day 3 fixtures due to their continental fixtures holding on
the weekend of February 26-28 but we have received representations from
officials of the three clubs pleading to be allowed to focus on their
continental fixtures.”
Nasarawa
are already billed to fly out Tuesday (today) to Dakar, Senegal for the second
leg of their CAF Confederation Cup tie against AS Academie Demonstration Foot.
The Nigerian side won the first leg 2-1.
