Zesco United coach George Lwandamina is
staying very modest despite his side sneaking up into second place on the Faz
Super League table.
The defending champions beat Napsa Stars 2-0
away in Lusaka on Wednesday to jump from sixth to second on the table on
maximum 12 points from four matches with four games in hand.
Zesco’s win, that came courtesy of a Jesse
Were brace, saw them move within four points of leaders and unbeaten Nkana.
“It is just one of those games that has seen
us pick up three points and we are still looking forward to more games to
come,” Lwandamina said.
The victory saw Zesco also pick up
back-to-back wins on the road just four days after they defeated Green Eagles
1-0 in Choma.
“Playing Wednesday and Saturday plus the
travelling has not been easy but we will make sure we plan very well for the
next game,” Lwandamina said.
Zesco return home this Saturday to face
second from bottom Mufulira Blackpool.
Victory at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola
this weekend will see them move within one point of Nkana who only play on
Sunday at home against Lusaka Dynamos in Kitwe.
The Ndola is chasing a third straight league
win this season.
