Joe Erico has said Kasimpasa defender, Kenneth Omeruo, is good enough
for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner, who is currently on-loan at the
Turkish club from Chelsea, last week expressed his desire to play
for the Under-23 team in Brazil.
Erico told our correspondent that Omeruo’s experience with the Super
Eagles would help the team at the Olympics.
“Omeruo is a good player and will be good for the Under-23 team at the
Olympics. He has played some great games for the Eagles and he is
experienced,” he said.
“When going to the Olympics, one should go with the best players that
the country can offer. Omeruo has played in England and has faced some tough
strikers, so he can help stabilise the team’s defence.
“The coach has the final say on who makes the team but I believe
Omeruo will be good enough for the team.”
