Haugesund captain William Troost-Ekong
has expressed his delight at his recall to the Super Eagles,
AfricanFootball.com reports.
Troost-Ekong is one of the 26 players invited
by Nigeria caretaker coach Salisu Yusuf for the friendly matches against Mali
and Luxembourg next month.
“Very happy to be called up again for
Nigeria. Hard work pays off,” he tweeted.
The 22-year-old defender, who is on loan at
the Norwegian club from Belgian champions Gent, has four caps for Nigeria.
He represented Holland at youth level before
he decided to change his international allegiance.
Meanwhile, former Nigeria youth international
Chidiebere Nwakali scored his first-ever goal for Norwegian club IK Start on
Wednesday in a 3-0 win over Fram Larvik in a cup game.
Nwakali, who is on loan from Manchester
City, hit the target in the 72nd minute to give his side a 1-0 lead.
