The United States Consulate General in
Lagos will host a Google Hangout on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 3 p.m., to
respond to questions from the public on the U.S. student visa applications
process and about living and studying in the United States.
During
the one hour Google Hangout session, questions will be directed to two
American Consular Officers and an Education USA Advisor
who will share
practical information about the process of obtaining a U.S. student visa.
Two
Nigerians currently living and studying in the United States will also share
their experiences during the one-hour live session.
Building
on the success of the last Google Hangout that was held in August 2015 where
thousands of Nigerians, including those from abroad participated in, the
upcoming session is being organized with a view to dispelling myths and rumours
about applying to study in the United States.
Interested
Nigerians and other nationals are encouraged to participate by tuning in to the
live broadcast via the event page link https://goo.gl/c6k2h7 or by logging on to the
United States Embassy’s Google+ Profile (https://goo.gl/c3Zts5) and YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/USEmbassyNigeria).
The
session will be available for subsequent viewing via the United States
Embassy’s YouTube channel. Questions can also be submitted in advance via
the Google Hangout event page (https://goo.gl/c6k2h7), the U.S. Embassy’s
Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/usembassynigeria), or by
tweeting @USEmbassyAbuja using the hashtag #AskTheVOs.
