Six things to know about EPL new entrants Huddersfield FC

Huddersfield Town Football Club , won promotion to the Premier League in dramatic fashion last week . This means the club will be playing in the prestigious English Premier League for the first time in 45 years .

Here are six facts you should know about the EPL new entrants .

1 . Huddersfield FC was founded on August 15 , 1908 , making the club 108 years old .

2 . Huddersfield are record breakers
In 1926 , Huddersfield became the first English team to win three successive league titles . Only three other clubs , Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United , have matched the feat .

The club won the FA Cup in 1922 and have been runners- up on four other occasions . On 27 February 1932 , the club achieved a record attendance of 67 , 037 during their FA Cup 6 th round tie against Arsenal at Leeds Road . This attendance has been bettered by only 13 other clubs in the history of the Football League.

3 . Current chairman of the club side is Dean Hoyle , the founder and former owner of greeting cards business chain , Card Factory

4 . It took the founders of the club five years , from 1908 to 1913 to arrive at a choice of the clubs current blue- and -white jersey that remains to this day .

5 . The home stadium of the club is Kirklees Stadium ( known as the John Smith’ s Stadium due to sponsorship ) , Huddersfield , in West Yorkshire , England .

6 . The club, nicknamed , The Terriers is managed by David Wagner.
